ArTzaiTopaKeta: encuentro agropastoril y artístico – shepherds’ and artisans’ meeting

El encuentro ArTzaiTopaKeta tiene como objetivo potenciar y sensibilizar el entorno rural del Valle de Karrantza. El proyecto MuturBeltz promueve otra vez ese encuentro y ha invitado a much@s hilander@s en el II Encuentro de Hilanderas de Euskal Herria.Si puedo, os pongo el programa del 17 de junio aquí:

The shepherds’ and artisans’ meeting ArTzaiTopaKeta was organized to promote and draw attention to the valley of Karrantza. The project MuturBeltz is one of the organizers and they have invited a lot of spinners from Spain’s northern regions. I will be one of them 😉

As you can see above, the programme of the day is quite intense.

Día de la oveja Latxa en Arrieta, Bizkaya – Latxa-Sheep Day in Arrieta, Bizkaya

Hoy ha sido uno de los  días temáticos en Arrieta: Todo sobre la oveja Latxa y productos ecológicos. Hemos ido Arantza Diaz y yo desde Donostia para hilar un poquito ahí; también han estado una amiga de Bilbao y otra de un pueblo al lado de Arrieta. Habían algunas ovejitas para esquilar y varios puestos con productos artesanales y/o ecológicos. A pesar del mal tiempo han venido bastantes personas al pueblo para informarse y probar estos productos.

Today there has been one of those ‘theme’-days in Arrieta: Everything about the Latxa sheep and ecological products. From San Sebastián Arantza Diaz and I have gone there to pass the day spinning; there have also been two of our spinning friends with us, one from Bilbao, the other from a village next to Arrieta. They had brought some sheep into the village for a shearing demonstration. In spite of the bad weather quite a lot of people have come to Arrieta to get to know and try some of the region’s local products.

 

En dos semanas tendrá lugar el encuentro ArTzai TopaKeta en KarrantzaKarrantza donde se puede ver y comprar productos artesanales hechos de lana virgen, entre otros. Tenemos la intención de estar ahí también. ¡Ven a conocernos!

In two weeks there will be a meeting of shepherds in Karrantza where you can see and buy artisan products made of wool and other materials as well. We are planning to be there, too: So, come and meet us there!
